Pintuang Bukas sa Silanganan (East Door Opening) Series by Amaya Tala
Hello Sweet Ones, here is a poem I wrote in Filipino to help me reconnect with meanings/expression that are unique to this language in processing the wisdom of the now where both the journey and destination exist. Many of us have heard, “it’s all about the journey, not the destination.” Another way of seeing that is each part of the journey is the destination, too. This reminds us to savor and celebrate each moment while welcoming new possibilities and learnings to enrich our lives. Enjoy!
Sa nayon ng pagnais (In the town of desire) Ako ay naglakad (I walked) Matikman ang katas (To taste the juice) Ako ay nangarap (I dreamed of/wished for)
Subalit sa aking pagnais (But in my desire) Nalasap ang pait (I tasted the bitterness) Ng himbing ng tulog (Of the deep sleep) Ng matamis na kalooban (Of the sweet inside)
Nasaan ang nayon ng pagkamit? (Where is the town of attainment?) Kung saan buhay na (Where it is already alive) Ang ating kasiyahan (Our happiness)
Dapat ba maghintay? (Should I/we wait?) O dapat lang magising? (Or should I/we just wake up?) Sa katotohanan (In the truth) Ng ating sangkalikasan (Of our creation)
Ako ay mag-aabang (I will be on the watch) Ng may pagtitimpi (With patience/restraint) Habang mulat dito (While eyes are wide open) Sa nayon ng ngayon (In the town of now)
Kung saan ako ay namangha (Where I am in awe) Sa banal na kambal ng kambal (Of the sacred twin of twins) Ng paglakbay at pagnais (Of journey and desire) Kasama ng pagkamit at paroroonan (With attainment and destination)
Dito sa nayon ng ngayon (Here in the town of now) Ang mata ko ay bulag at matalas (My eyes are blind and sharp) Ang puso ko ay naghihinanakit (My heart is hurting) At nagbubunyi (And celebrating)
Dito sa nayon ng ngayon (Here in the town of now) Narito na. (They’re/It’s here.)
